UC Davis West Village Square Construction Continues…

We were able to visit the site on February 9th and were blown away by the progress. The Leasing & Recreation building will be ready for opening parties in a month or so and the Mixed-use buildings are coming along one by one. What an exciting project to be a part of!

Leasing & Recreation Building and the Fabulous Pool

The HardiePlank siding is up, almost complete and looks sharp with the reveals. The north walls and the roof are waiting for the standing seam panels that will wrap from the roof, down the face of the building. The thermal chimney is built and is waiting for the louvers that will allow passive cooling. With the storefront in, the steel all in place, walls ready for drywall and the roof-line in, this signature building is beginning to reveal its beauty. It won’t be long before the residents of this community are working out, lounging by the pool, watching movies, playing pool and volleyball or enjoying a barbeque to name just a few of the many activities that this building holds!

The Mixed-use framing is advancing and roof trusses are up on the first building. The residential units are looking great – the spaces feel open and the views are beautiful. Some lucky students are going to be living here. With the Mixed-use buildings up, the Village Square is taking shape and we can already feel the community that will be gathering in this green space.
