Every year in late summer, all of us at Studio E Architects will take an afternoon off to gather together at a beach or in a park, to celebrate the last days of the waning season out in the sun and to enjoy each others company…
…or rent giant sumo suits and make an oversize spectacle of ourselves in public. This year – well, we missed the boat. Literally. Proposed outings for sailing or kayaking fell by the wayside as deadlines mounted, and soon August slipped away into September, with October following rapidly on its heels. So what’s a fun-loving office to do for kicks when the seasons change?
Sharpen up the knives, and gather up some gourds…
Toss in some candy and cervezas – and BOO(!)M – Instant Halloween party, Studio E style. In the wrong hands this combination could prove problematic, but not with the seasoned Jack-O-Lantern stylists in this room.
Some used templates or pulled references from pop culture, while others let the natural contours of their chosen squash be their muse for more abstract creations.
When all the goodies were consumed and the carving carnage cleared, we put the final products on display in our picture window for all the trick-or-treaters and groovie ghoulies in our Banker’s Hill neighborhood to admire.
If your zombie-walk brings you by our haunt this weekend, stop by and check them out!
Have a happy and safe Halloween everybody!
