Scenes from Studio E Architects’ 25th Anniversary Party

Photography by Amy Mellor

If you’ve been following this space lately, you are by now well aware that 2012 is the 25th Anniversary of Studio E Architects. After writing about it for the good part of a year, we finally celebrated the occasion by hosting a party in our office and opening our doors to the people who have helped to make it all possible over the years – clients, consultants and coworkers, past and present, all gathered together for an evening of food, drinks, live music, and prizes.

Before the big day, as a birthday gift to ourselves, we designed a commemorative logo and slogan and commissioned a small run of T-shirts for the event.

Guests were treated to tacos made from scratch on our backyard patio courtesy of Mr. Tacos, a staple of Studio E summer gatherings. The evening’s entertainment was provided by Folding Mr. Lincoln, a local folk-rock band fronted by frequent Studio E collaborator  Harry Mestyanek of Ivy Landscape. As a part of a raffle to raise funds for the San Diego Architectural Foundation, two lucky attendees received door prizes of period-appropriate “tablet computers” circa 2012 and 1987 – a Kindle Fire for today, and an Etch-a-Sketch to mark the more analog-friendly year of Studio E’s formation.

Cheers for 25 great years! For more photos of the event, check out this gallery on our Facebook page. Thank you to all who attended and helped to make it happen – we had a great time and hope you did as well!
